The subgenus <em>Krczaldania</em> Sasa, 1961 is redefined and elevated to a generic rank. The type species of the genus <em>Krczaldania</em> - <em>Pygmephorus primitivus</em> Krczal, 1959, is redescribed based on material from Crimea, Ukraine.
