Abstract
One new species of the genus Prometabelba (Oribatida, Damaeidae)—P.chilaloensissp. nov.— is described, based on adults collected from litter and green mosses of forest in the Arsi Mountains National Park, central Ethiopia. An identification key to species of Damaeidae from the Afrotropical region is provided.
