Abstract
During a survey of gamasid mites associated with honey bees in Western Siberia (Tyumen region), Russia, Tropilaelaps mercedesae Anderson & Morgan was collected in hives of the Western honey bee, Apis mellifera L. (Hymenoptera: Apidae). T. mercedesae was recently recorded in Central Asia, Uzbekistan. This finding in Russia indicates that the range of this dangerous ectoparasitic species is expanding.
