Abstract

The genus Phauloppia (Oribatida, Oribatulidae) is recorded for the first time from Ethiopia. A new species, P. hageniaica sp. nov., is described based on females collected from bark and moss of Hagenia abyssinica in southeastern Ethiopia. The new species is characterized by the absence of the lamella.
